A different kind of medical ride
Many of our long-time clients first called us not for a black-tie event, but for a parent's hospital discharge or a weekly dialysis appointment. We understand that when a family is navigating a medical situation, the last thing they need is a rideshare driver who can't help with a walker or a luggage cart.
Atherton Luxury Ride provides non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) for ambulatory patients — those who can transfer between a wheelchair or walker and a vehicle seat with minimal assistance. We are not a wheelchair-van service or an ambulance service.
When families call us
- Hospital discharges — from Stanford Hospital, UCSF, Sequoia, Kaiser and Sutter facilities back home.
- Doctor and specialist appointments — recurring or one-off, with the same chauffeur on request.
- Dialysis transport — three-times-weekly recurring schedules with predictable pickup times.
- Chemotherapy and infusion appointments — with a chauffeur who can wait the full duration.
- Post-surgical transport — ophthalmology, orthopedic, cardiac and outpatient procedure pickups.
- Senior care visits — to assisted living facilities, family homes and adult day programs.
- Out-of-area medical travel — to Sacramento, San Francisco specialists, or Stanford Cancer Center from elsewhere in the Bay Area.
What makes our medical transport different
- Patient-trained chauffeurs. Our drivers are trained to assist with walkers, canes, oxygen tanks (portable), and personal belongings — patiently and respectfully.
- Full luxury vehicle. A Mercedes S-Class or Cadillac Escalade — quiet cabin, climate controlled, with rear-seat adjustments to ease boarding.
- Family coordination. We can call or text a family member or care manager when the patient is picked up and dropped off.
- Front-door pickup. Not curbside, not the parking garage — your driver brings the car as close to the entrance as the facility allows, and walks the patient to the door.
- Strict confidentiality. Our chauffeurs are trained to never discuss the trip, destination, or reason — with anyone, ever.
- Recurring schedules with the same chauffeur, when available.

Booking medical transportation
Please call us at +1-833-457-5466 to book medical transport — we prefer to take medical bookings by phone so we can fully understand the patient's needs, mobility level, and any specifics about the facility. For families coordinating recurring care, we can establish a dedicated chauffeur and standing pickup schedule.
Atherton Luxury Ride provides non-emergency medical transportation for ambulatory patients only. We are not an ambulance service or a wheelchair-van service. For medical emergencies, please call 911. For wheelchair-van service, please ask our team for a referral.
